The community is largely a fishing community with a Government wharf and community stage and fishing stages. It is a good hunting area for both big and small game, i.e. moose, caribou, partridge, ducks and rabbits. The area is great for skidooing, ice fishing, etc. in winter and boating, , etc. in summer. Negotiations are still ongoing with the3 provincial government and private companies who are interested in developing the Gisborne Lake water shed to build a drinking water bottling plant / supply pipeline for the community and area.
